The following information should be accurate, but, if something isnt, please feel free to send a note to Juliet Hattersley (all one lowercase word) at sbcglobal.net. Any opinions expressed here are my own and shouldnt deter you from finding out for yourself if you would like to see any of these practicioners. I cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies on the following listing, whether informational or sentimental. Please check everything out for yourself.
Also, as this list grows, I will not be able to take the time out to find out what sorts of insurance, etc., each practicioner takes. If you see a name without any of that information, I got it from one of the CFIDS support group e-mail lists to which I belong where that info wasnt readily available. Other doctor lists are available at

Co-authored Solving the Puzzle of CFIDS (with Dr. Murray Susser in Los Angeles, who was featured in The Alternative Medicine Guide -- see books section of this site). Office was the nicest and most helpful of any I called. Also was recommended to me by the office of another physician in Marin. |

|
Featured on p.246 of the Alternative Medicine Guide (see books section of this site). Has many CFIDS patients. Though Cutler is not currently taking on any more patients, she has two associates in her office to whom she has taught the Allergy Testing techniques. Office was okay but not stellar in terms of friendliness and helpfulness. |
| Elson Haas, MD, and Associates (Preventive Medical Center of Marin) | 415-924-2273 or see website | San Rafael | Multi-disciplinary approach using allopathic and alternative medicine techniques |
|
Dr. Haas has a great reputation with many people in the Bay Area and has authored several books on nutrition that enjoy a large following. But, its not necessarily him you'll be seeing when you call for an appointment. My experience with an associate of his wasnt great, but it wasnt horrible either. She just didnt seem to help me, so I quit going to her. Office is very efficient, and they take Medicare and many other forms of health insurance. |
| Robert Cathcart, MD | 650-949-2822 | Los Altos | Orthomolecular Medicine |
|
Featured on about.com's CFIDS and FMS site. Also has his own site at www.orthomed.com. Office was somewhat nice and helpful. |
| John Toth, MD | 925-682-5660 | Concord | General Practitioner |
|
One of the only practicioners I found so far who would take any kind of insurance. Office was okay in terms of friendliness and helpfulness. |

Office very friendly but not too helpful in terms of actual information. |
